Health care reform could hit a major hurdle Tuesday, as a Republican win in Massachusetts’ special Senate election could strip Democrats of their tenuous control in Congress.
Republican Scott Brown is competing strongly for the Senate seat left open by the death of Ted Kennedy; a seat traditionally held by Democrats. If Brown wins, the Democrats would lose supermajority in the Senate as well as the 60 votes needed to pass the health care bill without Republican support.
