about siege...

“I met this girl wen i was 10 years old/and wat i loved most she had so much soul/she was old school when i was just a shawty/never knew thru out my life she wud b there for me…”

Sup,my life is all about Hip-Hop,im sure most of y’all kno that Common song “Used To Love Her”,i back that shit up,ode to hip-hop…(ima write this in a Sydney Shaw fashion,if u seen Brown Sugar, ull understand)

as far as my background goes…i was raised on Motown and Reggae music…then i remember watchin The Fresh Prince as a youngster, and copying Will Smith, man i loved “Boom Shake The Room”Dj Jazzy Jeff n the Fresh Prince, that was classic shit…

When i was about 8,i picked up(when i say picked up,i mean stole my uncles tape) the Fugees Joint,”The Score” n started ad-libbing,haha. I remember i was always tryna spit Pras’ verse from “Ready or Not”,i think it went suttin like…

“ready or not refugee takin over, with the buffalo soldier, dreadlock rasta,on the twelfth hour, fly by in my bomber, crews run for cover, now they’re under pushin’ up flowers ”...and suttin else den da end was suttin like “i,refugee from guatanamo bay, dance around the border like im cassius clay-us” (if y’all dont remember that “Ready or Not” shit, its the song Diddy sampled for Mario Winans “I Dont Wanna Know”)

den dere was dis track “Zealots” afta “Ready or Not” and i member da beginning went suttin like “another emcee loses life tonight, lord,i beg not you pray to jesus christ, why?”

and Pras’ verse in this was sick too! it was suttin like “i compress sound sets with my rap DBX,then drop vocals on my 456 ampex…”

and that “Fu-Gee-La” joint was this shit too!!! “gun by my side jus in case i gota run,a boy on the side with babylon, tryna front like he down with Mount Zion” And i know y’all heard “killing Me Softly”

Y’all shud jus cop the album, its the shit,L-Boogie killin people on there man, bring on the reunion…

Anywayz,i member sittin on da grass at my mates house, listenin to “Mo Money,Mo Problems” and other Biggie shit…then nt long afta, listenin to”Ill Be Missing You”,when Biggie died…

gotta mention “Illmatic”,...man!!! Nas was the shit and still is!...The Wu-Tang Clan too…all this old skool shit before i was like 12…

As i got older i got more and more into rap,i remeber buyin that Eminem album “The Marshall Mathers LP” in 1999 or 2000 and being amazed by sum of the shit on there…

in about 2002,i was sat bored in science class, and i musta watched 8 Mile the night before or summink, but i was jus sat there doodlin n scribblin, then i started to write rhymes.i was always good in english at creative writin n poetry n shit, but neva put it to a beat…

at home i used to download beats and freestyle to them as best i could, and id write songs to them…by the time i was 16 i (in my opinion),had come on loads, and the metaphors and shit started flowin easier…

forward to 2003,and there was this new cat on the block... "Go,go,go,go shawty, its ya bithrday...50 Cent dropped "Get Rich or Die Tryin",i bugged the fuck outta my moms til she bought it for me .

Skip to late 2003 early 04,a girl i used to speak to told me bout this dude name KanYe West, she sent me a song im sure y’all kno called “thru the wire”,that was one of the first times i started gettin intrested in production too,i loved how he sampled Chaka Kahns “through the fire”...in terms of albums,my hip hop bible will always be “The College Dropout”... Thats Pretty much how i fell in love with the most beautiful person in the world, hip hop is life for a lotta peopl out there…start as u mean to go on right…so ill end with

“Stressin how hardcore and real she is/ She was really the realest, before she got into showbiz/ I did her, not just to say that I did it/ But I’m committed, but so many niggaz hit it/ That she’s just not the same lettin all these groupies do her/ I see niggaz slammin her, and takin her to the sewer/ But i’ma take her back hopin that the shit stop/ Cause who I’m talkin bout y’all is hip-hop”
