Our mission is to provide a place where like-minded people can share and discover news and information (blogs, links, pictures, videos) that matters to urban audiences. We strongly believe that mainstream media is undeserving people like us, by publishing and televising news and information they want people to consume versus what people want to know about.
So, we are launching this site as a way to empower social publishing and discovery of news and information that really matters – not what some newsroom editor wants to force on you. Right now we are in what we call “Non-Private Beta”, meaning instead of launching a beta site with an invite list, anyone can come and participate. However, please keep in mind that we are in beta, and you may find something here or there on the site that isn’t quite finished. But, please rest assure that we’re working on it.
Finally, we haven’t invented rocket science here, there are other social news & bookmarking sites out there. We have plenty of respect for sites like Digg, Reddit, and Mixx. However, unlike them we desire to build a community of like minded urban/pop culture users who have interests other than pure technology.
Once again, this site is here for you. Send us Feedback to let us know how we’re doing or what you think we should change. We have lots of new features and additions in the works and will share them here on our blog as we launch them.
