Let’s Start Rap Over…

As a member of the ‘98-’99 Bad Boy all-star squad, a new millennium Ruff Ryder, and the director of the D-Block movement, Jadakiss has always been one crossover hit away from being a household name.

“Why” was serious, in more ways than one, but it wasn’t the club hit that gets the attention of younger and less-interested demographics. “We Gon’ Make It” was fairly big, but it didn’t crack the top five on the rap singles chart. Any of his other singles, like “Time’s Up,” or “U Make Me Wanna,” were regarded right away as forced and uncreative pieces of label-made music.
