KRS One Disses Kayne West

- news link from theory, 8 months ago

KRS-One does an interview with All Hip Hop and talks about Kayne West and 50 Cent. He says that he is feelin' 50 Cent over Kayne. He says that Kayne's album was brilliant but then disses him saying: "But Is it Hip-Hop? Flashing...Lights...Cameras...Nah...I want boom bap. We don't wear white shades around here!"

Much respect to KRS but the fact that Kanye West’s album incorporates influences outside of traditional hip-hop is probably a good thing for the music. More than anything it shows the growth and maturity of the art form. There’s no reason the old school and new school styles can’t coexist and still both be “hip-hop.”

I’m personally feeling “Graduation” WAY more than “Curtis.”

What is new school??

To say something about the new school you have to learn where the old school hip hop is.. Back in the dayz.. there was Rap, gansta rap, hip hop etc.. nowadays, whoever is spitting some verse is considered hip hop.. I agree with KRS One, he knows what old school and is still there now, he can recognise TRUE Hip Hop and what is the trend of the moment!!!

Am feeling Curtis, cause he is speaking from the heart. Kanye is good but just want more visual
