“Hood Aggin” - Review of Gorilla Zoe’s Welcome To The Zoo
Whether or not you want to admit it, Atlanta is a hotspot for postmodern Hip-Hop. Originally put on the map by living legends Outkast and Goodie Mob, the newer generation has spawned a more practical breed of rappers who successfully managed to dominate nationwide radio and nightclubs. Fresh out of the trap to keep the the movement alive is seasoned rookie Gorilla Zoe. The raspy voiced rhyme animal burst on the scene as the newest frontman for the Boyz N’ Da Hood’s lukewarm sophomore album, and recently carried on the tradition and took the solo route. On his debut Welcome To The Zoo, Gorilla Zoe has enough chest-beating braggadocio to leave a memorable impact, but by the disc’s end, its evident that this gorilla could have benefited from some more training before being released from his cage.
