More Jena 6, Less Michael Vick
If I told you that a 16 year old was charged as an adult for attempted murder after allegedly getting into a fight (along with 5 others) with another student, would you believe me?
What if the victim was knocked unconscious but was released for the hospital the same night? What if the alleged victim testified that he didn’t know who hit him first?
Well, this is precisely what happened in the Jena 6 case.
Notably, the victim is white and the members of the Jena 6 are Black.
Bloggers tend to be ahead of the curve. Changeseeker put me on to the Jena 6 petition a month or two ago. However, I wasn’t compelled to write about it ’til Gotty reminded me of how the case was being buried by Micheal Vick stories.

I THINK THAT THIS IS SO SAD . WHY DIDNT THE WHITE KIDS GET CHARGED WITH THE MURDER WHEN THEY WERE IN THE SAME SITUATION ? WHY DID THEY JUST GET ASSAULT CHARGES ? NOW THAT ITS BLACK KIDS ITS MURDER ? OUR BLACKS NEED TO STAND UP FOR EAEC OTHER WE CANNOT LET THESE BOYS GO TO JAIL FOR DEFENDING THEMSELVES . IF THE WHITES DIDNT GO THEY SHOULD NOT EITHER WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND SO WHERE IS THE JUSTICE ?
I think it is just plain stupid. This is surley discrimination and it needs to be dona away with. How can you charge 6 boys with attempted murder on a white student and say that the murder weapon was a shoe. By the time you finish beating someone half to death with a shoe, you’re gonna be haldf dead too. I think we should all go down to Jena and show our support b/c if we as african -americans don’t try to stand up for whats right, then we’ll fall for anything. Im also playing for the boys.
i think that stuff aint right if they was going 2 lock any 1 up they should of locked the white boys up 2
i think that this is very sad that there are more woman going to protest against it then men i also think this goes all the way back to fighting for our rights, there also need to be more young people participating in the protest they make situations like this okay! we need to keep the peace and fight ! fight ! fight ! 4 freedom!!!

That is soo dumb. I dnt think Jena was racist. The white boy(s) should be arrested. If somebody would have died, i bet they would blame the black guys 4 doing it. This need 2 end RIGHT NOW !! God made us ALL EQUAL !! I honestly think the white boys should have been arrested instead.
