Another Banksy Mural Gets Swept Under the Carpet
When renowned graffiti artist Banksy created one of his trademark pieces on the wall of the White Cube art gallery he might have expected it to be in safe hands. But the gallery has been left embarrassed after the estimated £200,000 valued piece was destroyed. The mural, called "Sweep It Under The Carpet", showed a maid looking as if she was lifting up a part of the wall like a curtain to sweep away some dust. It adorned the wall outside of the gallery in Hoxton, East London, for two months before being painted over.

That’s crazy. 200K just erased. I would feel more than “embarrassed” if that was my money.
It is terrible. It points out the transience of street art… here one day, gone tomorrow. You have to take the time to appreciate what you see when you see it, because you never know when it’s going to disappear.
What a shame. Great peice. However, I don’t know if I would have parted with 200K for a wall stensil. Maybe $50 and that’s a big maybe. Good scam Banksy.
thats bull. great piece just gone….
