This guy should have never been a judge. What a moron! I have a feeling he’s gonna lose this case because of lack of evidence on the high cost of the pants. He would have to prove that the pants cost thosands of dollars and in order for the Federal Court to actually get resolve this, the pants would have to be worth more than $75,000.00. He may also get an admonishment from the trial. If he loses, which I think he will, the owners of the dry cleaners should file for attorney’s fee reimbursement and punitive damages for filing a frivolous claim.

This guy is all about our weakness in the Judicial system as well as being a prick with a capital P. His divorce papers are published on the web and his request for “Spousal Support” shows his desire for other peoples money. Unbelievable that someone hasn’t beaten him to a pulp or better yet….............

This is a prime example of what is wrong with our court system. If our judges had enough balls to think for themselves and throw a case like this out of court, fine the lawyer or judge that brought it before him or her, plus pay all court costs. If the judges would do this, it wouldn’t take long before a lot of these frivolous law suits would disappear and I’m sure the American people would be behind those judges. Of course the lawyers wouldn’t be.

It would be interesting if they found a hair with DNA on the pants (the cuffs, for example) which he claimed were not his pants, and they matched with his own hair. End of case.

Ha, ha! This “judge” claims mental anguish as part of his law suit over loosing his pants (and then being offered compensation). Should the delicate little flower really be in charge of a courtroom and it’s contentious processes? I think he has told us all, himself, he has no business acting as a judge.
Watch for this guy. First he wanted spousal support from his ex-wife, now $67 million for a pair of pants. Next, he’ll be suing Wal Mart for falling down in their parking lot.

By the way… does anyone know what I/we as citizens can do to force tort reform? I mean other than taking the system away from the lawyer and ex-lawyers?

No, he sued for 65 million dollars. Can’t believe that he’s a jugde and lawyer. Where did he get his law degree from. He’s being greedy and sucking out money from the Chung. He asked for $1500 first. Then the Chung offered him $3000, then $4000, then $12,000. Still, he caculated and sued the Chung for 65 Million.

You would think he would be intelligent enough to understand that even if (and thats a big if) he won the case there would be no way the Chungs would have tangible assests even remotely in that neighborhood. What a waste of time and energy.

I have an idea. Absurdity of this article made me laugh and pee in my pants. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one. Therefore people who peed in their pants should get together and file a class action suit against Pearson for causing wardrobe damage, emotional distress and physical distress, which resulted from chafing caused by wet undergarment. I recently read how some illustrious members of the legal community lament the low estimation of their profession by the general public. Well, here is a classic expose of the reason for that opinion. The Great Master once said it best: ‘Pharisees, hypocrites, you strain at a gnat and swallow a camel.’ It looks as if the legal profession, at least in some local circles, has inherited that great tradition of moral and legal myopia. Wisdom is justified of her children. I suspect judge Roy will have to move to another planet to escape the stigma of his folly. How much will he sue the media for when they do follow-up stories on the 5th, 10th, 15th, etc. anniversary of his disbarment?

This is ridiculous, yes, but that coffee burns case wasn’t as insane as people like to think. It was an elderly woman who set a cup of coffee in her lap (as we all do) and ended up with her genitals burned so badly she required surgery. The coffee she was served was WELL above the level recommended by the FDA , and regulating the temperature of food is actually a valuable endeavor.

This judge is a nut. He has thrown this family’s world into chaos over nothing. He should get NOTHING . This is a frivolous lawsuit. If he was unhappy with the service he should complain and take his business elsewhere like a normal person. This is the most unreasonable lawsuit I have ever heard of. The fact that he has filed it against a small family-run business makes it even worse. Huge corporations are equipped to deal with huge lawsuits but working class entrepreneurs are not. And the other $51 and a half a million was to help other D.C. customers sue. Okay, A) I know a bunch of other people have lost things at the cleaners, but has anyone sued for $2 million dollars for discomfort? The guy has other pants, he needs to get over his loss. B) Why would he need a car when he using $51.5 million to put everyother D.C. cleaners out of business, which brings me to point C) What is it his business to pry $51.5 million out of the poor Chungs so he can do the same to more cleaners? I wonder what his mother thinks of him now.
