“Extremely Wild Like The Hair On Don King…” - Red Gone Wild Review
Redman is the Joe Morgan of rap, in that the context of his career does not give him the shine of some of his peers. People don’t’ look at Joe Morgan as a legend because he didn’t hit 65 home runs, steal 100 bases, or break the color barrier. Likewise, Reggie Noble hasn’t scored a huge crossover hit, been in a marquee feud with another famous rapper, or died young. The common music fan probably knows him as that rapper who smokes a lot of weed and was on the Christina Aguilera song. Yet like Big Joe (known currently by today’s sports fan as a terrible baseball announcer,) Redman, when you consider the breadth of material he has released in the last 15 years, is one of the all-time greats; clearly one of the top 15-20 MCs eva, and mentionable in the same breath as 2pac, Biggie, Jay-Z, Nas, or any other first ballot hall-of-famer.
