"The Pimp Is Free" - Review of Pimp C - Pimpilations
He’s free… But who cares?
I cared.
I couldn’t wait for a UGK reunion. Since Dirty Money, everybody’s been patient. But Pimp rushed a solo attempt, Pimpalation, and didn’t really give us classic material. But hey, what can we say. We begged so long for the pimp to be free, and well, this is what you get. Pimpalation is 17 tracks of pimpin’ influenced, trunk rattlin’, Texas rap. The album is actually better than a majority of the South-dominated rap scene, most notably due to the production. But you start to think this is compilation with the 25 guest appearances. You start to forget Pimp C. is actually the main attraction.
