2.6.07 - Afeni Shakur @ Vanderbilt University
Last night, I had the opportunity to listen to a lecture by Afeni Shakur @ Vanderbilt University.
I attended for a few reasons, namely because it was free, but moreso to hear her story & what she had to say. For one, everyone knows her as Pac’s mother, and the chance to hear her the perspective on his life & legacy was reason enough to go. But having been an avid reader of the lives & contributions of the Black Panther Party, I wanted to see & hear how a once-former “social agitator” had evolved once age & money have coming into their lives.
