It’s been one year already.

One whole year since James “J-Dilla” Yancey’s passing. The tribute shows are up and some websites are getting their tributes together. I’m sitting here listening to The Shining; “Love Jones” is on repeat as I write this to be exact. And I find myself going back to the same thought pattern I had last year around this time after word got out about Dilla’s ascenscion. It seemed as if everyone for the most part was in shock. Some were saddened to great lengths; I know one of my close friends wept hearing the news and I remember stopping what I was doing to just…think.
