Hip Hop started dying a very slow death with the murder of DJ Scott La Rock. Yes, believe it. Then there were other hip hop artist who were cut down before and during their prime and currently. Let’s trip and look at this issue in medical terms. When 2 Pac was murked, desanguination (massive blood loss) started leaking from Hip Hop’s blood vessels internally creating fake ass beefs, jealously, stupidity, bling, greed, disrespect and other inmature concepts from the hood. Everything in the world and musically changed. So the people who murked 2 Pac brought all of us sadness and bad karma musically. Then when Biggie was murdered, exsanguination (complete loss of blood) heart and creativity occurred. This is when the South jumped in. So there are more than 5 reasons why hip hop is dead. No matter what you may think. There’s more to life than you think. It’s called Good and Bad karma. Both hip hop artists had the “it factor” and took music to different levels. Now hip hop has been dumbed down and weak. There are many underground artists who are keeping it real but may never get to the “show” and have the same type of success as the aforementioned. Now when in your life have you heard of an artist having a number 1 record for selling 61,000 units? That’s a joke! I read the January 2008 issue of Rolling Stone and through the entire issue only 1 hip hop artist was featured and that was Lupe Fiasco. When you see that, hip hop is dead. Wack ass record companies won’t change their business models to suit today’s music tastes. This is why they’re laying off and dropping artists. It’s going to get even worst because we’re heading into a resession. So hip hop is dead, Timbaland knows this and has flipped it to Pop and now many of you with no talent will try to copy his game plan. Do me a f-n favor and try to be original! R.I.P Hip Hop.
